SAME DC Young Members District Distilling Company Tour/Tasting and Networking Event - SOLD OUT!

SAME DC YMs are having a tour/tasting followed by a networking event at District Distilling Co; Washington D.C.’s first combination Distillery + Kitchen + Bar. Located within a series of historic 19th century row houses at the heart of the bustling 14th and U Street Corridors.

When: March 30th 4:45pm. Tour starts at 5pm so please don’t be late.
Where:  1414 U St NW Washington, DC 20009

How to Get There: Patrons are encouraged to use the public parking at the Reeves Center (2000 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20009 or Metrorail (Yellow or Green lines - U St.)

Cost: $20.00 per person includes tour/tasting

The tour and tasting should last one hour. After the tour, please join us for a networking event in the bar area.

Limit: The tour/tasting was limited to the first 25 people who registered and paid – unfortunately we are at capacity. If you can’t make it for the tour, please join us at the bar after for a drink/networking.

2017 Annual SAME Washington DC Post Scholarship Golf Tournament

Golf TournamentJoin the SAME DC Post on May 16, 2017 at the beautiful Courses at Andrews Air Force Base for our Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament. The tournament raises funds for scholarships the DC Post awards every year to deserving engineering and architecture students from area universities. In 2016, the DC Post awarded twelve scholarships for $3,000.

SAME Foundation Now Accepting Donations

Spring 2016 SAME established the Society of American Military Engineers Foundation ("Foundation") as a separate 501(c)3 tax exempt organization to provide a secure and beneficial repository for charitable and other bequeaths from members of the Society and the public at large. In addition, the Fund will separate the philanthropic objectives of the Society from the Society's day to day operations. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to continue to promote the strategic goals of the Society and to support the development and growth of members and future members. Therefore, spending will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Funding member professional development and career advancement programs, including negotiating certification discounts, and then funding the programs
  • Providing stipends to fund member travel to SAME events
  • Supporting SAME Engineering & Construction Camps
  • Promoting STEM-related initiatives
  • Providing scholarships to students who are pursuing degrees in STEM-related fields
