Outreach and Communications
Forward thinking, the Washington DC Post (Chapter) is actively engaged in communication and outreach initiatives with our members and with other organizations, and engaged in partnerships with our local community, in support of the SAME mission, vision, and goals and objectives.
The Washington DC Post MENTOR programs, Strategic Scholarship Program, and participation in the annual SAME Engineering and Construction Camps, give our Young Members, students, and mentors the opportunities for growth in their respective professional pursuits and to network with other professionals through participation in the programs and activities of SAME. In addition, the Washington DC Post supports the Society values: Integrity, Patriotism, Public Service, National Security, Technical Competence, Excellence, and Environmental Stewardship.
The Washington DC Post leadership team and members consider building relationships and expanding our connections keys for success. Connections with SAME enrich our contributions to the Society, provide leadership opportunities for our members, and increase resources for other SAME Posts and our SAME Middle Atlantic Region. We welcome your participation and your ideas. Member Feedback is always welcome.
The Washington DC Post Outreach and Communications Committee, produces a bimonthly newsletter, The Patriot [PDF file], that informs our members on upcoming SAME and Post events, programs and conferences, and provides A/E/C industry public and private sector news and announcements.
The Washington DC Post redesigned and realigned the Post's Web site just a few years ago. This bold initiative contributed to excellent public relations for the post and put the DC Post on the map -- as the largest SAME Post in the nation! In addition, the DC Post E-Mail Announcement List provides our members with timely program announcements and reminders.
Commitment to outreach and communications, as well as to public relations initiatives, is paramount to the way the DC Post conducts business and strives to better serve its membership.
